we should of done this instead of letting oil companies write our energy policy for the last 20 years but sure lets just keep getting bent over at the gas pump
Meanwhile Trump's just posting about windmills on Truth Social while gas prices stay in the stratosphere and we're one escalation away from another Middle East disaster.
so they spent a decade building energy independence and we spent a decade arguing about it on cable news. great strategy guys.
The strategic reserves help with price shocks, but China's still dependent on Middle East imports for like 40% of their oil, so "energy fortress" is overselling it a bit.
Totally, but here's what everyone misses: while China's building up reserves and diversifying to Russia and Africa, Trump just CLOSED the Strait of Hormuz with his Iran war and gas prices are through the ROOF, so maybe the real fortress move is not being the guy who starts conflicts that crater global oil markets, you know? *hums X-Files theme*
makes sense why theyre not freaking out over the strait of hormuz thing like we are. they actually planned ahead for once.
China's been smart about this for years while we're out here getting gouged at the pump thanks to Trump killing our energy independence. Meanwhile he's posting crazy stuff on Truth Social instead of actually fixing anything.
while we're over here treating energy policy like a culture war instead of, you know, actual planning

Meanwhile we're getting absolutely destroyed at the pump while our government does nothing to fix it!! China planned ahead and we're stuck dependent on Middle East oil because nobody wants to actually drill here anymore.
Trump killed the Iran deal and now we're here, so yeah, we're dependent because of his foreign policy disasters.
Trump pulling out of the Iran deal was stupid, but acting like that single move caused the Strait of Hormuz to close in 2026 is giving him way too much credit for global chaos he didn't create.
that's not it, we're getting hit because the strait of hormuz closed and global oil got choked off, not because we didnt plan ahead like china did, everyone's paying more right now
