Mother Jones calling anyone a sellout while they've spent years cheerleading for politicians who handed China our manufacturing base, gave Iran pallets of cash, and let the entire Middle East destabilize is rich. RICH.

Kushner brokered the Abraham Accords. That's actual peace between Israel and Arab nations that career diplomats said was impossible. What did the foreign policy establishment produce in the same region for the thirty years before that? More of the same slow bleed. So forgive me if I'm not taking the "autocrat" lecture from the same crowd that thought the Iran nuclear deal was diplomatic genius.

Mother Jones has one gear: orange man bad, orange man's family worse. That's the whole publication. They've been running this exact story with different names in the headline for ten years.

The Abraham Accords that led directly to the Strait being closed. Great peace.

Somebody already threw the Strait in your face so I won't pile on but the Abraham Accords DID normalize relations that thirty years of State Department careerists couldn't touch, and Mother Jones was not out here praising THAT. They were pouting. Now Kushner breathes wrong and it's autocrat season. The Iran cash pallets were real money, real pallets, real autocrats, and somehow that was just Tuesday for these people.

Mother Jones is going to Mother Jones but the Kushner stuff has always been the part of this administration that made even Republicans uncomfortable if they were being straight about it.

Guy got a $2 billion check from Saudi Arabia after leaving office. That is not complicated. You do not need a long investigation to understand what that is.

The Abraham Accords were real and I will give credit where it is due. But that does not buy infinite goodwill when the guy is running what looks like a foreign-backed investment fund while his father-in-law is president again.

Tired of the whataboutism too. "But Hunter Biden." Hunter Biden was not a senior White House advisor with a security clearance the intel community flagged as a problem from day one.

Hunter Biden was not a senior White House advisor but he was sitting on Burisma's board pulling $83,000 a month with zero energy experience while his dad ran Ukraine policy. You want to talk about foreign money and family connections, that one is not subtle either.

The $2 billion from Saudi Arabia is a legitimate question and I have never pretended otherwise. But Mother Jones acting like they suddenly care about foreign influence when they spent four years ignoring every shady Biden family wire transfer is rich. The intel community flagging Kushner's clearance and Trump overruling it happens every single administration with family members and political appointees. Obama's people flagged plenty and got overruled too. That is not unique to Kushner.

Abraham Accords normalized four Arab countries with Israel. That is a real foreign policy achievement that the whole DC establishment said was impossible. What did the State Department career crowd accomplish in 30 years of "process"? Another Oslo handshake photo.

I am not saying Kushner is clean. I am saying the selective outrage from the same crowd that had no problem with John Kerry meeting with Iranian officials to undermine nuclear sanctions or Hunter Biden's art sales to anonymous buyers is something I am not going to sit here and pretend is about principles. It is about who has the R next to their name.

$2 billion from Saudi Arabia and Republicans STILL gave him a pass because he married into the right family. the intel community literally flagged his clearance and Trump overruled them, that's documented. and you're right, Hunter Biden was a private citizen with a laptop, not a guy in the Situation Room with a portfolio built on foreign autocrat money. the double standard is not subtle.

Public office is not a family business and foreign autocrats are not partners for American values. If Jared Kushner used his position to cozy up to them, that is a disgrace, because Scripture is plain, whoever is faithful in little is faithful also in much.

Kushner walked into the White House with zero experience, got a top security clearance the intelligence community flagged as a RISK, and then proceeded to run Middle East policy like a side hustle for his family's real estate portfolio. Saudi Arabia handed him $2 billion after he left office and the MAGATs called it diplomacy. Kamala told us exactly what this family was doing with power and nobody wanted to listen.

Kushner’s ā€œside hustleā€ is exactly the playbook the Trump administration has turned into a template for every senior advisor who thinks a family name can replace competence. The intelligence community warned his clearance was a risk, yet Hegseth’s Defense Department kept doling out Pentagon‑funded contracts to firms that help that same elite circle monetize data, Palantir for border analytics, Anduril for autonomous drones that can be sold to Saudi and UAE customers, SpaceX for launch services that double as global surveillance platforms.

What the article calls ā€œdiplomacyā€ is a private‑profit pipeline: $2 billion in Saudi cash flows straight back into a network of lobbyists who lobby the State Department and Treasury to keep the same tech giants on the government’s payroll. Meanwhile, the labor movement is left to fight for decent wages while the Pentagon’s budget balloons to fund a surveillance empire that follows workers home on their phones.

If we keep letting these ā€œfamily‑firstā€ appointments dictate policy, we’re not just handing autocrats a seat at the table; we’re handing them the keys to an ever‑more intrusive data infrastructure that undercuts civil liberties, climate action and immigrant rights. The real question isn’t how Kushner got a clearance, it’s how much more of our public money will be siphoned into a private surveillance state before the next election cycle forces us to reckon with it.

Nineteen years running a business and I have watched Mother Jones explain what "selling out America" means to a publication that cheered every Obama-era Iran appeasement deal and called it diplomacy. The Abraham Accords normalized relationships across the Middle East that career diplomats said could not be done. That is not autocrat-hopping, that is getting results without sending pallets of cash on a cargo plane. Write me a piece about that flight sometime.
