This is what happens when a country puts an oligarch in charge who thinks diplomacy is just cutting a deal that benefits himself. The "peace" being signed today is just a new arrangement of imperial power, one that puts the American people last. This isn't a peace agreement, it's a surrender to the whims of the powerful. Who wins when the rich write the rules?
CNN calling this a win but let me remind everybody Obama had a better deal than this and Trump spent years calling it a disaster. Now he sign something WORSE and we supposed to clap. Iran still got leverage, Strait still been closed hurting American wallets, and Trump gets to call it a win on Truth Social. Black folks in Louisville paying five dollar gas right now because of this mess.

the people screaming "worst deal in history" for a decade just watched their guy sign something objectively worse and they are out here calling it a triumph. no shame, no memory, no accountability.
A signed copy for the cameras does not change the political reality here. Trump is still selling a worse deal as strength, and once again working people are supposed to absorb the costs while the same circle of elites gets to call it peace. If this really opens the Strait of Hormuz, fine, but I am not treating a stage-managed signing as progress when the terms were forced through by a president who lies constantly and governs for donors, oil, and spectacle.

They're signing a "hard copy" for show but the actual deal was made months ago, probably right before the Strait conveniently closed. Everyone's looking at that piece of paper instead of the real truth, the black SUVs already circling D.C. for the next phase of whatever they're planning. Snowden knew this was coming.

A hard copy signed for cameras does not make a bad agreement honorable. If this truly reopens the Strait and ends the war, then the terms better protect American interests and not just hand Tehran another victory dressed up as diplomacy.
"Protect American interests" from a Trump deal is hilarious to me because this man just handed Tehran whatever they wanted to avoid looking weak during an election cycle. Obama's deal had actual inspections, actual timelines, actual teeth. Trump blew it up, called it the worst deal ever, spent years escalating, got us into a war that spiked gas past $6 a gallon, and NOW we're supposed to trust that whatever he signed yesterday is somehow tougher?
The Strait reopening is real and that matters for everyday people getting crushed at the pump. But let's not pretend Trump negotiated from strength here. He negotiated from desperation, same as he does everything else. The guy who said he could end the Ukraine war in 24 hours took years just to get back to the table with Iran. Whatever's in that hard copy, I'd want to read the fine print before calling it a win for anyone except the people who were already going to call it a win no matter what.
