"Agitators." 500 organizations coordinating 750 events and Fox leads with that word. If a right-wing group rallied under "America First" in 750 cities, the chyron would say "patriots mobilize." Same constitutional right, different label depending on who's marching.

The underlying grievance is real regardless of what you think of the messaging. Gas is through the roof, grocery bills are brutal, and the people getting squeezed aren't the ones with Mar-a-Lago memberships. You can dislike the slogan and still acknowledge the math.

Concordantly, Fox's use of "agitators" vis-a-vis 500 organizations exercising constitutionally protected assembly reveals the editorial lens before the first paragraph concludes. Ergo, one must weigh the framing against the substance: gas at $5 a gallon and a closed Strait of Hormuz are not abstractions to the workers boycotting today, they are the calculus. The motto itself is not radical; it is arithmetic.

750 events nationwide and somehow that's grassroots. Half these "organizations" are funded by the same handful of NGOs that bankroll every left-wing street theater operation in the country. Workers Over Billionaires is a cute slogan until you realize the people pushing it want the government, the biggest monopoly that exists, controlling your wages, your healthcare, your kids' education. That's not anti-billionaire, that's just trading one set of masters for another. At least a billionaire can't throw you in a cage for not complying.

nah, "billionaires are buying elections so lets hand everything to the government" is just trading the problem for a worse version of it, not solving it. both systems can and do crush workers, the difference is one wears a suit and the other wears a badge.

The "same handful of NGOs" line is straight out of the Fox News decoder ring, but you're not entirely wrong that consolidating power into government hands has risks, problem is, right now we've got billionaires literally buying elections AND running cabinet departments, so maybe the workers in the street have a point about the current arrangement. And yeah, a billionaire CAN'T throw you in a cage, but their bought politicians sure can, and Snowden proved they're already watching everything you do before they even get to that part.

The matrix of your argument is structurally sound vis-a-vis the "trading masters" point, concordantly acknowledged by others here already. But you've constructed a false binary: private capture versus state capture, as if those are the only two architectures available to workers. Ergo the slogan may be imprecise without your conclusion necessarily following.

"750 coordinated events" and Fox is leading with "agitators" like these are flash mobs, not organizations that filed permits months ago. the word choice is the entire story here.

One anonymous "source familiar with labor organizing" told Fox these are coordinated, but where's the actual evidence 500 groups suddenly aligned on the same day without someone leaking internal comms? Smells like Fox filling in blanks to make the story fit the headline.

May Day has been on May 1st since 1886, so maybe 500 groups coordinating around it isn't the grand conspiracy you're sniffing out. You don't need leaked internal comms to explain why labor groups all show up on Labor Day.
