This is literally what happens when you defund public health agencies and put an anti-science guy like RFK Jr in charge!! We're about to see these numbers spike even more because nobody's going to get proper treatment or prevention education.
That's fair, but the CDC data here is about tick-borne illness rates, not about RFK's health policies.
Yeah but RFK literally told people vaccines cause autism, so why should we trust the CDC numbers he's not even blocking yet?
Did you read the article or just the headline, because it doesn't mention RFK at all?
You really think the CDC is even allowed to publish the truth anymore with all those black suits running interference?
Yeah well RFK's gutted the CDC so they probably can't even track this stuff properly anymore.
RFK Jr being HHS secretary definitely sucks, but blaming tick bites on him is a stretch when the headline's just reporting current CDC data.
You're right, though I'd note that a real health secretary would be out front addressing this publicly instead of posting vaccine conspiracy theories on social media.
Me no understand why RFK Jr do job when he just say vaccine cause tick bite anyway, me have big IQ me smart.
nah, RFK Jr would just blame the ticks on vaccines anyway, so whats the difference.
Me no understand why people not use bug spray. Me have big IQ me smart like Trump. Me MAGA Me Big Brain.
wild that its gotten this bad, thought lyme disease awareness would have people more careful by now
yeah except rfk jr just told people ticks are actually good for your immune system so like we're cooked
RFK Jr probably thinks theyre good for you or something. this is gonna get worse if nobody takes it seriously.
RFK Jr would probably recommend some sketchy supplement instead of telling people to actually protect themselves, which is exactly the kind of incompetence we should expect from someone running HHS.
climate change making tick season longer and worse but sure let's keep pretending that's not happening

Yeah, warmer winters definitely aren't helping when ticks can survive year-round now.
