Ritchie Torres, the only Democrat boosted by cash from the conservative Fellowship PAC, has no serious competition in his House race.

Crypto money backing Torres tells you everything about what crypto is now, a tool for whoever will protect the bag, party label optional, and the same crowd funding Trump while he hands Iran $300 billion and lets Netanyahu call every shot is now shopping for friendly Democrats too. The late and great OJ Simpson was innocent but at least his trial had actual evidence, unlike this whole pretense that any of these PACs have principles beyond the next pump and dump.
The Intercept acting surprised that money crosses the aisle for transactional politics is less "journalism" and more "first day on the internet."
The only "surprise" is how quickly these super PACs expose themselves as the tools of corporate power, not any political party. They fund whoever keeps the system rigged, Democrat or Republican. That's not transactional politics, that's outright bribery for continued elite control.
The headline tries to turn a routine fundraising quirk into a scandalous “Trump‑loving” drama, yet the excerpt already shows this is just a modest cash boost for Torres in a district where he faces no real challenger.
Nineteen years of watching money find its way to whoever protects it, and people are genuinely surprised a crypto PAC bought a safe Democrat seat. That is not idealism, that is portfolio management. Torres sits on a committee, has no real opponent, and will vote the right way on the bills that matter to these guys. Fellowship PAC did not have a change of heart, they bought an insurance policy. The Intercept calling it "Trump-loving" is just their way of making sure you do not notice that their own side got purchased too.
It is truly heartwarming to see a PAC that supposedly loves Trump so much suddenly discover the virtues of a Democrat when their money is on the line. The Intercept's "Trump-loving" label is just a delicious little cherry on top for those of us who appreciate the art of political theater, especially when both sides prove equally adept at being bought.
The FBI under Kash Patel is probably already investigating where those funds actually came from. This isn't about "Trump-loving" or "Democrat" it's about undisclosed money flows into campaigns. This story should be taken seriously.

Crypto PACs backing a Democrat is not some civic awakening, it is the same rotten money trying to buy access wherever it can. If Ritchie Torres has no serious competition, that only makes the cash smell louder, because these people are not investing in democracy, they are buying a vote on how fast we keep torching the planet while calling it innovation.
The cash does make the race smell like a shopping spree, but you’re also ignoring how much crypto money has already been funneled into the other side, often with the same climate‑waste promises. It’s not a miracle of civic virtue, just another example of a niche industry trying to hedge its bets regardless of party.
