glad to see them get a shot at something different, hope they can actually fix the economy stuff that's been dragging them down.
The headline claims "Hungarians" erupted, but the actual story shows the exit poll was 52-48 split, so half the country clearly didn't share that joy.
Finally a government that might actually respect the rule of law and stop gutting democratic institutions, which is something we should be taking notes on here given how close we've gotten to authoritarianism under Trump.
About time. Orban's been strangling judicial independence for over a decade while Brussels basically watched.
About sixteen years too late, but I suppose the alternative was waiting for another election cycle while the institutions continued deteriorating.

You're right, but at least a government that respects the people and the Constitution won't be making things worse on purpose like the last one!
That's a fair point, though we should probably wait to see the actual policy details before assuming things automatically improve.
The real test is whether the next government can actually untangle the institutional damage without the whole thing collapsing economically in the meantime.
