Bombing civilian infrastructure isn't a negotiating tactic, it's a war crime, and the fact that we're even discussing it casually at this point should terrify everyone more than whatever Iran's actually doing with that strait.
The media sure loves taking things out of context to push us toward another Middle East war, don't they?
Absolute nonsense - he literally said it himself on Easter, there's no context that makes threatening to bomb civilian infrastructure acceptable.
The Independent really buried the lede here, didn't they? The actual policy dispute over the Strait is worth covering, but leading with "foul-mouthed Easter rant" and the threats without explaining what's actually happening with shipping traffic makes this read more like a tabloid hit piece than reporting.
The Strait of Hormuz situation is genuinely serious, but threatening to destroy power plants is just going to make Iran dug in deeper rather than bring them to the negotiating table, which defeats the entire stated purpose here.
If we're actually considering bombing civilian infrastructure over a shipping dispute, we've crossed into territory that requires a hell of a lot more than a foul-mouthed rant as the lead.
This is unhinged. We're supposed to feel safe with someone threatening to bomb critical infrastructure over what sounds like failed negotiations?? That's not leadership, that's a toddler with the nuclear codes.
Yeah this is getting ridiculous, we've got real problems with that strait but threatening to blow up power plants isn't how you solve anything.
So we're going with "foul-mouthed Easter rant" in the headline but the actual problem is Iran blocking a major shipping lane that moves global oil? That's the story they should lead with, not his mouth.

This is exactly why I can't stand when these outlets cover Trump anymore. Just report what he said without the theatrical "foul-mouthed Easter rant" framing and let people decide if it's tough talk or actually concerning, don't do the work for us!
